In Chile in recent years, significant steps have been taken towards the energy transition. Regulatory frameworks and market rules have been created to encourage the generation of non-conventional renewable energies as well as promote electromobility, increasing in electric energy consumption, new forms of energy utilization and new rules for energy trading. Special attention is being given to implementation of energy efficiency actions in the industry with the entry into force of a new legislation in this area.
This transformation is expected to be accelerated in the coming years, which poses new challenges and opportunities to the industry, consumer organizations, society in general and electrical systems and electric utilities. All of them must adapt their processes and paradigmatic views of the generation and distribution of electrical energy in order to meet these new requirements and needs. Of relevance will be the implementation of initiatives associated with the concept of Distributed Energy Resources (DER).
In ThinKener Consultores we are actively following the regulatory changes that are being reflected in the new electric energy distribution law. These will have a significant impact on the role of utilities companies, the emergence of new marketing agents, the increase of non-regulated energy consumers, smart metering and new distribution pricing models. We are prepared to offer advice and services of strategic analysis and detection of opportunities to face these fundamental changes in the sector
